Lynn joined the University of Regina in August 2017. She leads their Community Engagement and Research Centre (CERC). Though the CERC is funded by the Faculty of Arts, it serves the broader university and communities in Regina and surrounding areas by facilitating community-campus engagement efforts, funding and directing community-based research projects, and facilitating student experiential learning opportunities. Lynn is also co-lead for the western hub (http://fundersinthewest.ca/) of the Canadian Philanthropy Partnership Research Network (funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council to operate a six-year project evaluating the role, actions and impact of Canadian grantmaking foundations).
Lynn has an interdisciplinary PhD (University of Regina; focus: funding policy in the non-profit sector). When she is not wearing her “academic hat” through her role with the Community Engagement and Research Centre, Lynn is also a partner in a Regina-based public relations firm, Benchmark Public Relations. She is the former Director of the Saskatchewan office of the Canadian Centre for Policy Development and worked for many years in a variety of policy and communications positions with the provincial government. She is excited to have the opportunity to work on CCEC’s steering committee to help develop Canadian networks for community-university engagement and research.
